Quality materials and superior workmanship are essential elements of projects that are quality built and finished on time and within budgets. Over the last 20 years we have carefully developed a network of subcontractors and suppliers who meet our demanding standards. We analyze the materials and labor requirements for each project to determine which of our contacts are best suited to meet those needs.
Effective communication is a major key to a properly managed construction project. Sharing critical information between contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients is an important dynamic that is often neglected in the construction industry. We have incorporated a state-of-the-art web-based construction management system called BuilderTREND. Using automated electronic communication, BuilderTREND tracks and governs common project management details like scheduling, decision deadlines, change orders, budgets, and warranty items. It coordinates the efforts of the workforce, minimizes communication breakdowns, and anticipates milestones and benchmarks that are critcal to budget and schedule adherence. The project begins with a pre-construction conference with subcontractors and suppliers, where we present in detail the required processes, materials, and labor, and the anticipated sequence of events. These conferences invariably expose potential conflicts, which can be addressed prior to construction rather than in the field.
There is no substitute for personal, professional interaction with clients. It is an intergral part of the building experience, and promotes confidence in the process, provides an opportunity for clients to answer questions, and reassures them that their interests are being properly managed. Toward this end, we schedule regular site visits with clients during each phase of construction, where we review past performance and discuss budget and time line considerations for the ensuing phase.
